“I am new to being a sub and considering my first actual dom/sub relationship. I have had a similar dynamic once before although it was never labeled as such. This time around my dom is interested in “ownership” which is a new concept to me all together. I don’t know much about bdsm besides what I have been reading over the last two weeks. While idea arouses me and is something I am very interested in, I have a few reservations. My soon to be owner has a contract that I must agree to which I am perfectly okay with…but I am worried that this will take some of the romance away from the relationship. I still desire a loving relationship and the ability to grow and share my life with someone. I am unsure if that is something that bdsm relationships are about.”
A contract is something that is usually agreed upon by all partners involved to ensure that no harm is done to anyone. This includes both physical and emotional well-being. A contract will also limit your and your partners’ hard limits so that they are not crossed without consent. It won’t reduce the amount of romance in your relationship, but ensure that everyone is being taken care properly.
